3D character creation is such a mix of art and tech. Getting the sculpt right in ZBrush or Blender is just the start — topology, UVs, and retopology workflows are what really determine whether that character is usable in-game. Add in rigging and blendshapes for facial animations, and suddenly you realize how much detail AAA studios put into every frame. What I’ve been learning is that even small things, like proper edge flow around joints, make a massive difference once the character is animated. It’s wild how much time you can save by studying pro pipelines and borrowing techniques that scale well from indie to AAA.
